Red Raiders Ranked 30th In Latest ITA Poll

Raony Carvalho climbed from 148 to 96 in the latest ITA singles rankings.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders earned a No. 30 ranking in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association men's poll released Tuesday.
The Red Raiders (11-6) slipped one spot this week, despite going 3-0 last week.
Individually, Gonzalo Escobar and Raony Carvalho each earned spots in the ITA Singles Top 100. Escobar jumped two spots to No. 57 this week, while Carvalho jumped from 148 to 96. Escobar is currently 25-10 on the season and 11-6 in dual matches, while Carvalho is 11-5 overall and 10-4 in dual matches.
The duo also earned their first doubles ranking of the season, entering the poll at No. 28. Escobar and Carvalho are currently 6-0 on the season since being paired against Louisville on March 12.
The team of Carvalho and Rafael Garcia are still in the rankings at No. 70. The duo is 6-4 on the season.
Texas Tech returns to action on Saturday, when they face No. 29 Baylor (12-7) to open Big 12 Conference play.
