Seventh-Ranked Texas Tech Set For Tavistock

The No. 7/10 Texas Tech Men's Golf team returns to action this weekend and will tee off in the prestigious Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in Orlando on Sunday morning.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club (par 72, 7,200 yards). One round (18 holes) will be played each day with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. (CT) and 7:25 a.m. (CT).
The Red Raiders will have plenty of competition in this year's field including No. 1 Illinois, No. 2 Florida State and No. 4 Baylor. Other top 25 teams in action this weekend include No. 12 Vanderbilt, No. 14 New Mexico and No. 17 California.
Senior Clement Sordet leads Texas Tech and enters the weekend with a national ranking of No. 13, according to the latest Golfweek rankings. Sordet owns a 70.2 stroke average through six rounds of play and has finished in the top five in each of Tech's two tournaments this season.
Freshman Pereira Guillermo and sophomore Hannes Ronneblad round out the top three for the Red Raiders with averages of 72.0 and 72.2, respectively.

RED RAIDERS RISE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Texas Tech debuted at No. 7 in the first Golfstat.com rankings of the 2014 season on Wednesday. The Red Raiders are one of three Big 12 teams ranked in the top 10. Baylor is ranked just ahead of Texas Tech at No. 4 while Texas stands at No. 9. Texas Tech dropped one spot in the latest Golfweek rankings to No. 10.
