Lady Raiders Head to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team will head back to the links for the first time in a little more than two weeks to tee it up in the 2014 Alamo Invitational at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
No. 7 Arkansas, No. 19 Auburn, No. 49 Baylor, No. 39 Florida State, Houston, No. 23 LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, No. 37 SMU, No. 44 Texas, No. 24 Texas A&M, Texas State, Tulane and host UTSA will join No. 64 Tech in the 15-team field.
The Lady Raiders have finished in the top five in two of their first three tournaments this season and have been led by a mix of fresh faces and veterans.
Stephanie Bertelsen continued her improvement through each tournament this season with her best showing at the OU Invitational. The senior finished off her three rounds with a 4-under par 68 - her lowest of the fall. She's improved by an average of seven strokes from her first round to final round of each tournament so far.
Bertelesen's 68 was bested by junior transfer Sarah Brown's 6-under 66 in the final round. Brown and Bertelsen are tied with a 73.1 stroke average through nine rounds each this fall, followed by junior Gennai Goodwin (73.5). Goodwin and freshman Gabby Barker are the only other two players to play in all three tournaments this fall with Brown and Bertelsen.
