Pereira Paces Texas Tech On First Day of Royal Oaks

Guillermo Pereira's strong day has placed him in second place on the individual leaderboard and he trails tournament leader Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen of Baylor by just three stokes. Pereira logged seven birdies and 26 pars in 36 holes, including three birdies on the final nine.

Freshman Guillermo Pereira fired a 3-under, 139 in the first two rounds of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate to place fourth-ranked Texas Tech in 6th overall at 29-over par. The third and final round will get underway on Tuesday morning at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas.
Pereira's strong day has placed him in second place on the individual leaderboard and he trails tournament leader Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen of Baylor by just three stokes. Pereira logged seven birdies and 26 pars in 36 holes, including three birdies on the final nine.
Within striking distance of Pereira and the tournament leader is senior Matias Dominguez. Dominguez posted round scores of 72 and 70 and stands at even par, 142.
As a team, the Red Raiders are 15 strokes back of tournament leader Oklahoma State at 29-over, 739. The No. 41 Cowboys shot a 14-over, 724 and hold a two-stroke lead over tournament host and seventh-ranked Baylor.
