Texas Tech Falls to NC State

Texas Tech fell 75-42 in its final game at the 2014 Junkanoo Jam.

FREEPORT, Bahamas -Texas Tech redshirt sophomore Minta Spears scored 16 points but NC State used its long-range shooting in each half to walk away with a 75-42 win on Saturday in the second round of the Junkanoo Jam.
Spears hit 5 of 6 from the field including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc. It was the second-most points for her this season after scoring 17 against Texas State on Nov. 18.
Tech (4-2) fell behind early after a 12-4 run by NC State created some separation - mostly part in thanks to its outside shooting.
NC State (5-2) hit 10 of 20 shots behind the arc, led by Len' Nique Brown (4-for-4) and Krystal Barett (3-for-4) who combined for 25 points along with Dominique Wilson's 16.
Ivonne CookTaylor and Spears got the Lady Raiders going in the second half and late in the first with two 10-2 runs that narrowed the Wolfpack's lead to 12 points. CookTaylor finished with nine points and five rebounds off the bench.
Tech will now head home to for its next game against Abilene Christian at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 at United Supermarkets Arena.
