
Texas Tech Blanks Boise State, 4-0

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Texas Tech won its sixth straight as the Red Raiders rolled past Boise State 4-0 on Friday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in the opening round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
The Red Raiders advance to face No. 4 UCLA in the second round on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT. The Bruins defeated Pepperdine, 5-0, on Friday. The winner of the UCLA-Texas Tech match will advance to earn one of 16 spots in the ITA Indoor National Championship in Chicago.
The day started with doubles, where Boise's Lewis Roskilly and Thomas Tenreiro defeated Texas Tech's Victor Cornea and Alex Sendegeya, 6-2, at No. 2.
The Red Raiders answered at No. 3, where Connor Curry and Francisco Zambon toppled Brian Foley and Abe Hewko, 6-3. No. 35 Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares then secured the point for the Red Raiders with a 6-4 win over Toby Mitchell and Garrett Patton at No. 1.
Jolan Cailleau gave Texas Tech a 2-0 lead when he toppled Roskilly, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5. Then No. 28 Soares bested Tenreiro, 6-3, 7-5. Alex Sendegeya then secured the win for Texas Tech with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Foley at No. No. 4.
After losing the season opener to New Mexico, Texas Tech has now won six straight to start the season at 6-1.
