The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been ranked in the NSCAA top-25 every week this season reaching their highest rank of No. 13 on October 5th. The Red Raiders, who finished last season with a 13-4-2 record, entered the 2015 season ranked No. 15. After suffering a loss in their first weekend of play, the Red Raiders went on the nation's longest unbeaten streak. The 12 match streak led to TTU climbing in the rankings for five consecutive weeks before Tech suffered their first loss in 50 days dropping the Red Raiders to No. 17. This week, the red Raiders occupy the No. 18 spot in the rankings, marking the eighth time Tech has been ranked inside the top-20 this season.
RED RAIDERS FINDING SUCCESS WITH DAUNTING 2015 SCHEDULE
The Red Raiders have challenged themselves with one of the toughest schedules in Texas Tech soccer history. This season, TTU has played 10 matches against teams ranked in the top-100 of the RPI and boasts a 3-3-4 record in those contests including a 1-1-2 record against teams in the top-25. ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END
After dropping a heart breaker to USC on Sep. 21 the 18th-ranked Red Raiders did not lose a match in their next 12 appearances. The 12 match unbeaten streak, that was snapped by the fourth-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, was the nation's longest active streak and the longest unbeaten streak by any team in the country this season. The 12 match unbeaten streak covered exactly 50 days and saw the Red Raiders earn a 8-0-4 record.
