LUBBOCK, Texas - For the third consecutive year, Texas Tech has landed three student-athletes on the men's basketball Academic All-Big 12 first team.
Red Raiders Luke Adams, Toddrick Gotcher and Clark Lammert each earned the award. It was the first time Adams and Lammert have been honored, while it is the third first team selection for Gotcher.
Gotcher, a redshirt junior, was one of three student-athletes in the Big 12 Conference honored for having a 4.00 grade point average, joining West Virginia's Kevin Noreen and Oklahoma State's Christien Sager.
Gotcher becomes the first Red Raider and the 19th player in league history to earn Academic All-Big 12 first team honors. Gotcher is 7.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15 Big 12 games this season.
For Adams, this is the senior's first selection to the Academic All-Big 12 first team. Adams graduated in the summer prior to the season with a bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science. He is currently working on his masters in Sports Management. Adams has played in 62 career games over the last four seasons, including earning seven starts for the Red Raiders.
Lammert, a senior from San Antonio, has appeared in a career-high 25 games this season and has played in 71 for his career. It is Lammert's first selection to the Academic All-Big 12 first team. His brother, Connor, who plays at Texas, was also selected to the first team.
In all, the three seniors increase Texas Tech's all-time Academic All-Big 12 selections to 35, including 23 first team honorees.
