Red Raiders Host No. 31 San Diego On Friday

LUBBOCK, Texas - After climbing to No. 30 last week in the ITA rankings, Texas Tech will look to return to the nation's elite this week when the No. 33 Red Raiders host No. 31 San Diego on Friday at noon at the McLeod Tennis Center.
Texas Tech (12-4), who did not play last week, are 6-2 in their last eight matches, including 3-0 at home.
San Diego (8-3) is coming off of a 5-2 setback to No. 5 USC, snapping an eight-match winning streak.
The two teams have one common opponent - South Florida. Texas Tech lost 4-2 to USF at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, while San Diego defeated USF, 4-2, at home. The Red Raiders are led by No. 43 Felipe Soares, who is 15-9 on the season, and No. 109 Joan Cailleau, who is 18-8 this year. Cailleau has won seven straight matches.
Also figuring into the mix are Hugo Dojas (12-5), Francisco Zambon (10-9) and Alex Sendegeya (13-6).
San Diego is paced by No. 58 Uros Petronijevic (14-9) and No. 81 Filip Vittek (15-5). After Friday's match, the Red Raiders hit the road for Indiana, where they will face the No. 30 Hoosiers () and the No. 36 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Texas Tech will face Indiana on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Bloomington and Notre Dame on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in South Bend.
