Felipe Soares becomes the first Red Raider since 2012 to earn ITA All-America honors in both singles and doubles.

LUBBOCK, Texas - The record book continues to be rewritten by Felipe Soares.
Soares has been named to the 2015 ITA All-America team in both singles and doubles, as announced by the association on Thursday afternoon.
The junior is one of only 10 players nationally to be named in both categories and just the second Red Raider to ever earn both nods in the same season. The last player to do so was Gonzalo Escobar in 2012.
Ranked the 28th-ranked player in the country, Soares led the Red Raiders into their 14th NCAA Tournament before making a splash of his own in the NCAA Individual Championships. The Brazilian native became the first in Tech history to advance into the quarterfinals of the singles bracket where he would eventually fall to the national champion, Ryan Shane of Virginia.
His 2015 wasn't quite finished yet though.
Alongside his roommate, Hugo Dojas, the duo soared into the doubles title match where the Red Raiders battled the Texas Longhorns and finished National Runner-Up to Lloyd Glasspool and Soren Hess-Olesen in three sets.
The tandem becomes just the third and fourth players at Texas Tech to pick up All-America honors joining Raony Carvalho (2010, 2012) and Escobar (2012), who coincidentally also finished National Runner-Up in the doubles bracket back in 2012 as well.
