No. 8 Red Raiders Take Third At Paintbrush Intercollegiate

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 8 Texas Tech men's golf team took third place overall behind a top-10 finish from Hannes Ronneblad at the Paintbrush Invitational, in Denver, Colo., on Tuesday.
After finishing the suspended round two on Tuesday morning, the Red Raiders were well within striking distance, carding a 3-under 285 as a team. However, a third-round 290 dropped the Red Raiders (-3) behind No. 20 Colorado (-5), which shot a 5-under 283, and out of the reach of No. 3 Oklahoma State (-14), which shot a six-under 282 to finish the tournament.
The Red Raiders were one of just three teams in the 15-team field to finish under-par for the tournament, and finished seven shots clear of defending NCAA Champions, No. 15 Oregon.
Individually, Hannes Ronneblad finished up a steady tournament with a two-under 70, landing him at 3-under and in a tie for ninth. He was joined in the overall top 20 by Ivan Ramirez (E), who tied for 16th, and Federico Zucchetti (+2), who tied for 18th.
The Red Raiders will wrap up their 2016 fall slate Oct. 16-18, at the Isleworth Collegiate, in Orlando, Fla.
