No. 7 Red Raiders Take Sixth At Tavistock

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 7 Texas Tech men's golf team wrapped up its fall slate by tying for sixth in a loaded field at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, held at Isleworth Country Club, in Orlando, Fla.
The Red Raiders posted an 8-over 296 on a day in which only 3 of the 15-team field posted under-par rounds.
Tech finished the tournament at +10, taking sixth place in a field featuring four other teams ranked in the nation's top 10.
Two Red Raiders, Hannes Ronneblad (-1) and Ivan Ramirez (+3) finished in the top 20 individually, taking 12th and 20th, respectively.
Fredrik Nilehn (+4) just missed out on joining them in the top 20, tying for 23rd. Federico Zucchetti (+6) took 32nd.
Tech finished four shots clear of No. 1 Illinois (+14) marking the second-straight year in which the Red Raiders have finished ahead of the nation's top-ranked team.
The 2017 spring slate begins Feb. 2-4 for the Red Raiders with the Amer Ari Invitational, held at the Waikiloa Kings Course, in Kona, Hawai'i.
