October 24, 2016 | Men's Tennis
The Red Raiders head west for the SoCal Intercollegiates hosted by USC this weekend.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Jolan Cailleau of the Texas Tech's men's tennis team was handed a 6-1, 7-5 defeat by Texas A&M's Arthur Rinderknech in the championship match of the ITA Texas Regionals presented by Oracle Monday at the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center on the TCU campus.
Cailleau fought back from a 6-1 opening set deficit and grabbed a 5-3 advantage in set two before Rinderkneck, the event's top seed and defending champion, clinched the title with four consecutive games.
"I know Jolan is disappointed by today's result, and he wishes he would have played better during different points of the match," Texas Tech head coach Brett Masi said. "Overall, he had a great tournament and has had a really solid fall. He can look forward to a great spring season if he continues to keep playing at this level."
Texas Tech wraps up the fall season with a trip out west to the SoCal Intercollegiates hosted by USC. The event begins Thursday and concludes Monday.
