Doors will open to the free event at 6:45 p.m. following the official Texas Tech Homecoming Parade hosted by the Student Union and Tech Activities Board (TAB) which concludes at the United Supermarkets Arena. Season ticket holders are invited to attend a pre-event reception located in Club Red on the United Supermarkets Arena concourse. Students also will have a pre-event gathering with free food and drinks at the City Bank Rooms on the concourse. Both basketball coaching staffs will make special appearances at the pre-event receptions.

The "Homecoming and Hoops Pep Rally" will start with a performance from the Goin' Band from Raiderland Drumline followed by a bell circle ceremony by the Saddle Tramps.
The 2016-17 Lady Raiders will be introduced, and head coach Candi Whitaker will address the crowd leading into a team scrimmage. She will give away eight Under Armour gear bags.
After the women's team scrimmage and the men's players are introduced, players from both teams will compete in a three-point shooting contest. Then, the Red Raiders will be showcased during a dunk contest. Head coach Chris Beard also will give away eight Under Armour gear bags, and one student will be selected to take the court for a shot to win $500 for books.
The "Homecoming and Hoops Pep Rally" will conclude with performances by the Texas Tech cheer and pom squads in addition to student organizations and other homecoming festivities as part of the Homecoming schedule hosted by the Student Union and TAB.
The TTU Bonfire, hosted by the Saddle Tramps, will take place at the recreational rugby fields just outside the United Supermarkets Arena following the event.
