LUBBOCK, Texas – Nine Texas Tech Cross Country student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big 12 Teams that were announced by the league office this afternoon.
Sophomore Hattie Schunk was one of 16 honorees with a 4.00 GPA, marking her second-consecutive cross country season where she has received such honors and third time overall as a student-athlete. Schunk previously earned Academic All-Big 12 honors as a member of the Red Raider soccer program.
Schunk is joined on the first team by Kaylee Amershek, Jocelyn Caro, Lynda Hanson, Maggy Mulholland and Rianna Randolph. This is the third Academic All-Big 12 award for Caro, Schunk and Mulholland and the second for Randolph.
Comprising the men's first team honors were Todd Mickey (fourth honor) and Ebenether Wondaferew (third honor). Following close behind with a second team accolade is Joacim Zuniga, making this his second honor.
