Kentucky got to the Red Raiders early in the first, plating four runs on three hits and a walk, forcing Tech to turn the game over to Dominique Alcocer.
Alcocer responded with two quick scoreless innings, including a strikeout of UK's Ansley Smith in the third.
Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, the Wildcats would post a six spot in the fourth inning on five hits to close out the 10-0 run-rule game.
The Red Raiders, facing their third top-25 opponent of the season, fell to 0-3 against ranked opponents on the season and 1-1 all-time against the Wildcats with Saturday's loss.
The Red Raiders will return to the field Saturday evening for their fourth game of the Campbell/Cartier Classic as Texas Tech will face No. 22 California at 6:30 p.m. Fans can follow action from the 2016 softball season by following @TTUSB on twitter.
