RALEIGH, N.C. -- On Wednesday, on the eve of Texas Tech's first-round NCAA Tournament matchup with Butler, head coach Tubby Smith, along with Toddrick Gotcher, Keenan Evans and Justin Gray, participated in an NCAA press conference before holding a practice that was open to the public.
The team arrived at PNC Arena at noon EST and got settled in before Gotcher, Evans and Gray went to the press conference at 12:50 p.m. At the same time, Coach Smith had a meeting with CBS to prep for tomorrow's game.
After the student-athletes finished their presser, they returned to the locker room, which was open to the media for 30 minutes. At that time, Coach Smith went from his CBS prep into the press conference. After the open locker room period and Coach Smith's presser came to an end, open practice began at 1:30 p.m.

The team practiced for 45 minutes in front of the media and crowd at PNC Arena. The majority of the practice consisted mainly of a variety of drills.
After practice, the team had lunch in their locker room at the arena and Keenan Evans met with CBS' Lewis Johnson, as part of prep for tomorrow's broadcast.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST, there will be a Texas Tech fan gathering at the Carolina Ale House. At the same time, the Red Raiders will hold their team dinner, which will be followed by a meeting before lights out.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Texas Tech arrived in Raleigh on Tuesday afternoon and immediately went to the team hotel, where the Red Raiders were received by a welcoming party put on by the hotel staff.
After getting settled in, Tech loaded the bus and traveled to the campus of North Carolina State University for the first on-site practice of the week, in preparation for Thursday's matchup with Butler.
Following practice, team dinner took place at the hotel and was immediately followed by a team meeting before lights out.
On Wednesday, head coach Tubby Smith and select student-athletes will take part in a media availability previewing Thursday's game before holding an on-site practice at PNC Arena, which will be open to the public.

The Red Raiders were selected as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region of the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.
Tech will take on No. 9 seed Butler in round one on Thursday, at 11:40 a.m. CT, on TruTV. Should Tech advance, the Red Raiders would face the winner between No. 1 Virginia and No. 16 Hampton on Saturday at a time to be determined.
