? No. 23 Texas Tech, fresh off a three-game sweep of Oklahoma, returns to the road this week as the Red Raiders travel to Las Vegas for a two-game midweek series at UNLV. The series begins with an 8:05 p.m. CT first pitch Monday evening and then concludes with a 3:05 p.m. finale on Tuesday.
? Texas Tech and UNLV will be meeting for the first time since 2011 this week as the Red Raiders are 6-8 all-time against the Rebels, including a 2-4 mark in games played in Las Vegas. This is Tech's first trip to Vegas since the 2010 season.
? Texas Tech is 12-3 this season against non-ranked opponents, including a 4-1 mark in midweek games. The Red Raiders are 7-2 this year against unranked non-conference foes.
? The Red Raiders head into the UNLV series riding a five-game winning streak which matches their longest of the season. Texas Tech has won eight of its last nine games with wins over No. 9 California, UT Arlington, Baylor, New Mexico and Oklahoma during that stretch.
? Texas Tech is averaging nearly nine runs per game over its five-game winning streak as the Red Raiders are hitting .331 as a team (55-for-166) during that span.
? Texas Tech is coming off a three-game sweep of Oklahoma this past weekend which improved the Red Raiders to 5-1 already this year in Big 12 play. It marks the best start to league action since Tech was 7-1 to open conference play in 1999.
? With the sweep of Oklahoma this past weekend, Texas Tech has won each of its first two Big 12 series for the first time since 2011.
? Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock moved into sole possession of third place on the school's career win chart last Thursday after the Red Raiders shut out Oklahoma, 5-0. Tadlock passed Dan Spencer (2009-12) with the win as he is now 118-82 since being named Tech's head coach prior to the 2013 season.
? The Red Raiders averaged a run per inning this past weekend against Oklahoma as Texas Tech plated 24 runs, including 13 alone in Saturday's series finale. Tech closed the series hitting .298 as a team.
? The Red Raiders are among the top teams in the country this season with 30 double plays turned through 23 games. Texas Tech was tied for second nationally in double plays heading into last weekend.
INSIDE THE UNLV SERIES
? Texas Tech and UNLV will be meeting for the 15th time in program history Monday night and the first time since the 2001 season.
? The Red Raiders are 6-8 all-time against the Rebels, including a 2-4 mark in games played in Las Vegas.
? This will be Texas Tech's first trip to Vegas since the 2010 season when the Red Raiders split a two-game midweek series.
? In the six midweek series all-time between the two schools, there have been just two sweeps as UNLV won both games of a 2008 series in Las Vegas while Texas Tech rebounded the following year with a pair of wins in Lubbock.
? Despite trailing in the overall series, the Red Raiders have outscored the Rebels, 120-100, overall.
? This will be the first time Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock will face UNLV.
