LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech Lady Raiders added yet another talented addition to the 2016 signing class on Monday as head coach Candi Whitaker announced the signing of Arella Guirantes.
Guirantes, a 5-11 guard from Bellport, N.Y., is the No. 44 player in the nation, according to ProspectNation and is the No. 17 wing in the 2016 class, according to ESPNU Hoopgurlz.

Guirantes is the second ESPNU Hoopgurlz top-100 athlete to be signed in the 2016 class, joining Brittany Brewer, a 6-4 forward from Abilene, ranked as the nation's No. 14 post player.
"Arella is an elite scorer," Whitaker said. "She has the ability to score at all three levels and has great instincts on both ends of the floor. I love her versatility and passion for the game. We could not be happier to have Arella be part of the Lady Raider family."
Last season, Guirantes averaged 33 points, 13 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3 steals and 2.6 blocks per game at IMG Academy.
Over the course of her career at Bellport High School, Guirantes scored more than 2,000 points, and was selected to the NYSSWA All-State First Team.
Guirantes will join what is already a loaded 2016 signing class for the Lady Raiders. Her, along with the aforementioned Brewer and with Grayson Bright, the No. 73 guard in the 2016 class, will be the freshmen on campus this winter.
In addition, three high-profile transfers who were signed as a part of the 2016 class will become eligible. McDonald's All-American Recee' Caldwell, who came to Lubbock from UCLA, Jada Terry, an imposing post player who transferred in from Texas A&M and Larryn Brooks, who was an All-Big 10 performer while becoming the first Indiana freshman to score 500 points in a season will all be active for the Lady Raiders this upcoming season.
