TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
• Texas Tech played in front of 4,732 fans, matching the third-largest crowd in Rip Griffin Park history (2012-Present). Tech had a similar sellout crowd for Friday's regional opener.
• Texas Tech advanced to the regional finals for the sixth time in school history win the win (1995, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2014, 2016).
• The game marked the 114th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and New Mexico, marking the most-played series against a non-conference opponent in school history. Tech entered this weekend having played both New Mexico and Rice a total of 113 times in its history.
• This was the third game this season between Texas Tech and New Mexico where the outcome was decided in the ninth inning or later. The Red Raiders previously scored three runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Lobos, 7-4, on April 19 in Albuquerque before New Mexico responded the following day with a 6-5 victory in 10 innings.
• The win marked the fifth time in school history where the Red Raiders had won via a game-winning run in the ninth inning or later (2014 - vs. Columbia; 2002 - vs. Washington; 2001 - vs. Arizona State; 1999 - vs. UW-Milwaukee).
• The win pushed Texas Tech to 6-7 all-time in one-run games during the NCAA Championship. The Red Raiders are now 7-4 in one-run games this season.
• Texas Tech entered today's game with a 1-11 record this season when trailing after seven innings. The Red Raiders previously rallied to score a run in the ninth and then added two more in the 10th to top then-No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette, 5-3, on Feb. 27 after trailing 3-2 heading into the eighth inning.
• Texas Tech is now an impressive 35-2 this season when out-hitting its opponent. The Red Raiders outslugged New Mexico with a 7-5 advantage in hits.
• Texas Tech is now 36-2 this season when holding its opponent to five runs or less.
• Hayden Howard's save marked Texas Tech's 19th save of the season, matching the single-season school record that was previously set in 2013.
• Texas Tech is now 27-7 this season when hitting at least one home run.
Tim Tadlock
• Improved to 145-91 at Texas Tech with the win.
• Improved to 580-218 as a collegiate head coach (Grayson J.C., Texas Tech)
• Improved to 7-3 all-time in NCAA Championship games.
• Improved to 2-0 all-time in NCAA Championship second-round games.
• Improved to 93-35 when the Red Raiders score the first run of the game.

• Notched the 58th come-from-behind victory as head coach of his alma mater.
Robert Dugger
• Made his 27th appearance of the bullpen, tossing 1.2 shutout innings of relief. His 27 appearances this season are tied for seventh all-time in the Texas Tech record book.
Tanner Gardner
• Recorded his team-leading 24th multi-hit game of the season after finishing 2-for-5 overall with a RBI single in the third inning and then a double in the ninth. The double was his 18th of the season.
Eric Gutierrez
• Extended his reached base safely streak to a season-best 21 games after connecting on a single in the eighth inning. It marked the second-straight day he extended his streak with a single in the eighth.
Hayden Howard
• Recorded his team-leading eighth save of the season after tossing a scoreless ninth inning. His eight saves this year are tied for third all-time in the Texas Tech single-season record book alongside Steve Rowe (2002), Blake McGinley (2001) and Tom Black (1976).
• His eight saves this season are the most for a Red Raiders since current Colorado Rockies starter Chad Bettis matched the school record with 10 in 2010. Bettis shares the record with Brandon Roberson (1999).
• Made his 30th appearance of the year, marking just the fourth time in school history where a Red Raider has appeared 30 or more times in a season. He joins Blake McGinley (30 - 2001), John Neely (30 - 2011) and James Leverton (31 - 2008).
Parker Mushinski
• Has now failed to surrender an earned run in 18 of his 19 appearances this season after tossing 1.1 shutout innings of relief.
Cory Raley
• Drew three walks to match the Texas Tech single-game record for an NCAA Championship contest. It marked the sixth time in school history where a Red Raider had recorded three walks in a regional as Tyler Neslony last matched the record in 2014 against Miami.
Ryan Shetter
• Earned his fourth win of the season after tossing two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He has not allowed a run in seven of his last eight appearances.
Stephen Smith
• Connected on his 10th home run of the season and 21st of his career with a solo blast to lead off the ninth inning. His 10 home runs this season match his career high from his 2015 sophomore campaign.
• The home run was his first ever in the ninth inning or later. He is the first Red Raider to homer in the ninth inning or later since Eric Gutierrez hit a solo shot on April 6 at Florida State.
