Texas Tech claims 10th win at the United Supermarkets Arena
LUBBOCK, Texas – A 13-4 run in the final two minutes sealed a 75-66 win for the Lady Raiders over No. 18/19 West Virginia Wednesday night.
West Virginia (14-3, 2-3 Big 12) opened with a 10-0 run. Tech (11-5, 3-2 Big 12) countered with a 13-9 run to close the gap, 11-19 in the first half.
Tech held the Mountaineers to just six points in the second quarter, a season low for WVU, to take a 29-25 lead into the half.
Junior Larryn Brooks open the fourth quarter with back-to-back scores to push the Lady Raiders lead to 17. But West Virginia fought back with a 21-4 run to tie the game at 60-60.
In the final two minutes of play, the Lady Raiders sparked a 13-4 run to regain the lead.
Four Lady Raiders scored in double figures for the eighth time this season. Freshman Arella Guirantes recorded her third career double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Recee' Caldwell scored 21 points, marking her eighth 20-point game of the season.
