Men's Tennis Nearly Goes Perfect at UTSA Cup

The Red Raiders go 9-1 on Saturday at the UTSA Cup.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team picked up an impressive 9-1 record on Saturday at UTSA Fall Cup in San Antonio.
The Red Raiders rolled to six straight-set victories in singles headed by a four wins courtesy of Pyry Hyrkkönen and Matheus Leite. They dropped a combined 14 games over their four sets.
"Overall, this was our best day of the tournament," Texas Tech assistant coach Daniel Whitehead said. "We won a lot of matches, but I was more proud of how we competed. We had several tough moments today, and we showed toughness each time. We supported each other as a team very well today."
Jackson Cobb added a pair of singles wins headed by 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) win over UTA's Eduard Simo at the top of the singles lineup.
