Former Lady Raider carded a 3-under-par 213 to win the 54-hole event this past weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf alumnae Elin Arvidsson notched one of her top professional achievements this past weekend as she won the 3E Actuaries Open held in South Africa.
Â
Arvidsson secured a $30,000 prize with the tournament crown, which came against several players off the LPGA Tour and several other international circuits. Arvidsson, a native of Sweden, finished with a two-stroke lead for the individual crown after combining to shoot a 3-under-par 213 over 54 holes.
Â
"There are girls out here who play on the LPGA and high up on the LET, and we've got girls who have played in the Solheim Cup," Arvidsson said to reporters afterwards. "Playing on the LPGA and in the Soheim Cup are dreams of mine so being able to come here and play on the same golf course as them, under the same conditions as them, and come out on top, is great for my game."
Â
The win wraps a successful year for Arvidsson, who recently advanced to the final stage of LPGA qualifying school after playing in 11 tournaments on the Symetra Tour. The highlight of her year came at the U.S. Women's Open, though, the first major appearance of Arvidsson's career.
Â
Arvidsson's success in LPGA qualifying earned her Symetra Tour status again for the 2018 season.
