Baseball Third-Tier TV Schedule Announced

Texas Tech is slated for 19 television broadcasts during the 2017 season, including eight at home through its third-tier agreement with FOX Sports.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The 2017 season of Texas Tech baseball will feature 19 television broadcasts, including eight home games that will be carried on a FOX Sports platform through Texas Tech's third-tier agreement with the network.

The Red Raiders begin their TV slate with the series opener with California on Friday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. on FOX Sports Southwest. The next six home television contests will air on FOX Sports Southwest Plus, beginning with 2016 NCAA runner-up Arizona on Tuesday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m.

In the middle of April, Tech will have back-to-back games featured on the network, with the finale of the Baylor series on Sunday, April 9, at 2 p.m. and the midweek contest against New Mexico on Tuesday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. The next home stand, a weekend set with Oklahoma State, will have all three games featured on FOX Sports Southwest Plus, with games slated for 6:30 p.m. (April 21) and 2 p.m. (April 22-23).

The Red Raiders will wrap up their third-tier TV schedule with the series opener against Kansas on Thursday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Southwest.

Eleven other matchups will air live this season, beginning with Tech's pair of games against Mississippi State on Feb. 17 & 19, which are slated for broadcasts on SEC+ and on the WatchESPN app. The Houston College Classic will be shown on the FOX family of networks, with an exactly schedule still to be determined.

Tech's conference opening series in Austin against Texas will be shown on the Longhorn Network, with the March 17 game set for 6:30 p.m., followed by 4 p.m. and 1 p.m. starts on March 18 and 19, respectively.

Another full Big 12 series will include TCU's trip to Lubbock, as the series opener will air on FOX Sports 1 on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. The Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (1:30 p.m.) contests will be featured on ESPNU.
