Men's Track & Field Remains in Top-25

The Texas Tech men’s track & field team is one of three Big 12 teams ranked nationally.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech men's track & field are ranked No. 24 in this week's USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) computer rankings.
This is the 25th consecutive week in which the men have been ranked in the top-25 for indoor standings.
Last weekend at the Big 12 Championship, Charles Brown and Darien Tennon brought home conference champion titles.
Brown placed in the long jump, triple jump and high jump racking up a total of 18 points for the men's team. His 7.89m/25-10.75 lifetime best mark in the long jump earned him the conference crown. Brown also hit a personal-record 16.05m/52-8.00 triple jump mark to earn third overall.
Tennon ran a 7.86 60-meter hurdle time to collect his first place medal. Tennon improved his mark from a previous best of 7.89 at the Tyson Invitational earlier this year.
Leading the Red Raiders in the high jump was Trey Culver clearing 2.21m/7-3.00 to secure a second-place finish.
Sophomore sprinter Andrew Hudson brought in a second-place finish of 20.85 in the 200m and a fourth-place finish of 6.72 in the 60m dash.
Kyle Collins also brought in a No. 2 finish in the men's 400-meter dash clocking a 46.38 race.
Vincent Crisp and C.J. Jones both pushed for personal-record times of 1:48.86 and 1:48.70 in the 800-meter race to snag some points for the men's team.
On the distance side, Miguel Bautista claimed a fifth-place finish in the 3000m race with his new personal-best time of 3:07.53.
This week all qualifying Red Raiders will prepare for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 10th and 11th at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas.
