
Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 2 North Carolina, 4-0

Doubles duo, Maltby and Talaba, wins lone match of the day
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team suffered its first loss of the season to No. 2 North Carolina on Friday night at the USTA National Campus.
In doubles play, sophomore Felicity Maltby and junior Gabriela Talaba tied the match 1-1 before the Tar Heels won the doubles point with a win on court two.
North Carolina (5-0) went on to win three singles courts to capture the 4-0 win over the Lady Raiders (2-1). The Tar Heels moved to 2-0 in the match with a win on court one. UNC's No. 5 Hayley Carter defeated Talaba (6-1, 7-5) in straight sets.
No. 44 Alexa Graham and No. 3 Sarah Daavettila of UNC also picked up wins in straight sets to complete the 4-0 victory.
When play was stopped, Sabrina Federici held a 7-5, 3-3 advantage over #45 Makenna Jones.
