Karl Scott breaks down the Red Raider defensive backs
LUBBOCK, Texas --Â The series of Texas Tech football spring position breakdowns continues as defensive backs coach Karl Scott breaks down the secondary.Â
The Red Raiders return several notable standouts from last season like senior D.J. Polite-Bray, junior Jah'Shawn Johnson and sophomores Desmon Smith, Kevin Moore and Douglas Coleman III. Scott and the rest of the Tech coaching staff also added to the group, bringing in three talented mid-year additions in Jaylon Lane, Octavious Morgan and Vaughnte Dorsey to go along with Arkansas transfer Willie Sykes.
The Red Raiders will open their "Best of Three" series between the offense and defense in less than two weeks as Tech travels to Midland on March 25 for a 1 p.m. scrimmage at Grande Communications Stadium.Â
Tech will then travel to The Star in Frisco for its Spring Game on April 1. Tickets for that game are limited and can be purchased online or by calling the Texas Tech Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH.Â
The Red Raiders conclude their series of open scrimmages on April 8 with "Saturday Night Lights" inside Jones AT&T Stadium.Â
