2017 SEASON (JUNIOR)
Saw action in seven games with three starts in first season as a Red Raider … recorded 27 tackles on the year, 25 of which were solo … his 25 solo tackles ranked 10th on the team … added three pass breakups as well as a tackle for a loss … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS … made Red Raider debut in season opener against Eastern Washington (9/2), recording a tackle and a pass breakup … earned the start at corner the next three games against Arizona State (9/16), Houston (9/23) and Oklahoma State (9/30) … posted four tackles, including one for a loss versus Arizona State … followed with six tackles and a pass breakup the next week at Houston … notched two tackles in the Big 12 opener against Oklahoma State … doubled that total two weeks later at West Virginia (10/14) ... broke up his final pass of the season against the Mountaineers as well … had two tackles against Kansas State (11/4) before closing his season with a season-high eight tackles against Baylor (11/11) … missed the final two games of the regular season as well as the Birmingham Bowl against USF.
INDEPENDENCE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Played two seasons at Independence Community College in Independence, Kan. … recorded 43 tackles and picked off five passes as a sophomore … his five interceptions ranked 11th nationally in the NJCAA … also recovered three fumbles with ranked 14th nationally and broke up six passes … helped lead Independence to a 5-4 overall record … played his freshman season at Jones County Junior College (Ellisville, Miss.) … totaled 42 tackles as a freshman (35 solo) … added an interception and forced fumble as well … ranked fifth on the team in tackles … three-star prospect by both 247Sports and Scout … ranked No. 51 among junior-college prospects nationally by Scout and seventh among cornerbacks … four-star prospect coming out of high school by most recruiting services … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Oregon State, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico and UCLA.
