Women’s Tennis Takes Down Oklahoma State, 4-2

Lady Raiders win 10 straight, stay undefeated in Big 12 play
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 6 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team stayed undefeated with a 4-2 victory over the reigning Big 12 Champions No. 7 Oklahoma State Friday evening.
"This is a huge win for us. Oklahoma State is one of the best teams in the country," Head Coach Todd Petty said. "This was the best fan support we've had all year and the conditions made for a perfect recipe for us to get it done today."
The Lady Raiders (17-3, 5-0 Big 12) extend their win streak to 10 as they stay undefeated in conference play and snapped a six-match win streak for the Cowgirls (14-4, 2-1 Big 12).
Doubles duo Alba Cortina-Pou and Alex Valenstein took a 6-1 victory over No. 44 Viktoriya Lushkova and Katarina Adamovic, marking their first ranked win of the season. No. 36 Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak took down No. 5 Vladica Babic and Carla Tur Mari, 6-2, to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play, Oklahoma State tied the match 1-1 as No. 10 Lushkova defeated No. 17 Gabriela Talaba in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).
Junior Sarah Dvorak responded to push the Lady Raiders up 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over No. 73 Babic on court four.
The match was tied up once again (2-2) as Katelyn Jackson fell 6-4, 6-4 on court six.
After dropping her first set, 3-6, No. 56 Felicity Maltby fought back to defeat No. 66 Adamovic in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-0).
Junior Alex Valenstein was tied 1-1 with No. 42 Aliona Bolsova entering the final set of the match. Valenstein battled back to clinch the match for the Lady Raiders with a 7-5, 0-6, 6-3 win on court four.
