No. 5 Women’s Tennis Sweeps Iowa State, 4-0

Lady Raiders continue 12-match win streak, play for a share of the Big 12 title on Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas – With the seventh 4-0 sweep of the season, the No. 5 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team defeated Iowa State Friday afternoon.
The Lady Raiders (19-3, 7-0 Big 12) extended their win streak to 12 matches. Iowa State moved to 15-7 on the season, 1-5 in conference play.
In doubles action, No. 68 Alba Cortina-Pou and Alex Valenstein picked up their fifth straight win with a 6-0 victory over Iowa State's Alvarez and Phippen. No. 29 Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici clinched the doubles point for the Lady Raiders with a 6-1 win on court one.
Junior Sabrina Federici won her 13th straight match as she defeated Karen Alvarez, 6-0, 6-0 to give the Lady Raiders a 2-0 lead.
Gabriela Talaba captured a 6-0, 6-0 win over Maty Cancini just before Cortina-Pou clinched the win (6-0, 6-1) in straight sets in her fourth win as a Lady Raider.

The Lady Raiders will play for a share of the Big 12 title on Sunday as they host West Virginia at 11:30 a.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center. Tech closes out conference play on Saturday, April 15, at TCU. A win in Fort Worth, Texas, would give the Lady Raiders the outright title.
