Cross Country Primed to Host Texas Tech Open

The Red Raiders are set for the 5k and 8k runs at the Chaparral Ridge Course.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech cross country will host its second meet of the season, the Texas Tech Open, at the Chaparral Ridge Course on Saturday, September 9, starting with the men's 8k at 8 a.m. The women's 5k race is set to follow at approximately 8:35 a.m.
Competing in this weekend's meet will be: Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, New Mexico Junior College, Odessa, Oklahoma Panhandle, South Plains, Southwest New Mexico, UT Permian Basin, West Texas A&M and Western Texas College.
Last week, the Red Raiders competed in a duel against New Mexico State in which they had a top finish from Ebenether Wondaferew. The senior clocked a 21:27.70 run in the men's 6,195-meter race to place second overall.
Parking for the meet is located on the side of the course near the club house. The address to this location is 2600 Frankford Ave, Lubbock, TX. There will be directions from the parking lot to the course. All overflow parking is located at Lubbock Christian's baseball field, next to the golf course on Frankford.

Next week the Red Raiders will travel to Round Rock, Texas, to compete in the Texas Invitational on Thursday, September 14.
