LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 8 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team is set to host Wichita State, FIU and Saint Mary's (CA) for the ITA Kickoff Weekend this Friday and Saturday at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Lady Raiders will open the two-day tournament with a match against Saint Mary's (CA) on Friday at 11 a.m. Following the match, Wichita State and FIU will face off at 2 p.m.
The winners from each match will meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a chance to advance to the ITA Indoor National Championships in Madison, Wis.
Tech has been to the national tournament back-to-back seasons. After defeating UC Santa Barbara and Arizona State during the ITA Kickoff Weekend last year, the Lady Raiders took down Vanderbilt to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Lady Raiders fell to the top-ranked Florida Gators and moved to the consolation bracket where the team swept No. 3 Pepperdine, marking the program's highest ranked win in school history.
