Texas Tech fall to tough opponents on second day in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis concluded day two of the June Stewart Invitational hidden dual tournament in Nashville on Saturday.
The Lady Raiders had a tough day as they faced Vanderbilt in singles. The Commodores captured five of the seven matches. Francesca Sella and Lana Rush's matches were both retired before the second set.
In doubles play, Kennedy Bridgforth and Nell Miller came away with their first win as a pair this fall. The duo defeated Middle Tennessee State's Luisa Zirilli and Lee Barnard, 6-4. Olivia Peet and Denise-Antonela Stoica fell in a close match against Kim Kermit and Zani Barnhard (MTSU), 7-6 (6).
The Lady Raiders close out the June Stewart Invitational tomorrow with a session of singles and doubles.
