Sofia Garcia collects fourth straight top-15 finish

SAN MARCOS, Texas. – Sofia Garcia and the Texas Tech Red Raiders concluded fall play at the Jim West Challenge hosted at the Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos.

Garcia, who finished the day with five birdies, finished the tournament in a tie for third with a 6-under 210. Her 3-under round of 69 was enough to lead the Red Raiders on Monday.

Anna Dong, after falling behind with a 4-over opening nine, bounced back with seven pars on the back half to finish the round at 6-over.

Both Cecilie Nielsen and Mami Yamamoto finished the day at 7-over, despite recording a combined five birdies on the day. Amy Taylor fell behind with six bogeys on the front nine to complete her final round at 12-over.

The Red Raiders finished the tournament in 13th place after shooting a combined 29-over 893 over the weekend.

Tech will have an extended break over the winter before returning to action on February 16 at the Mercer Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.
