Red Raiders Advance at ITA All-American Championships

Texas Tech duo defeats Georgia in straight sets to move on in consolation draw.
TULSA, Okla. – Tech doubles partners Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn will continue their run in Tulsa after defeating the Georgia Bulldogs, 6-3, 7-6(0) at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.
Thomson and Wynn, following a default by their first-round opponent in the first round of the consolation draw, won their match in the second round against Zielinski and Loeb of the University of Georgia.
Tech stormed out to an early lead by winning the first set by a margin of 6-3. Thomson and Wynn went back and forth with their competitors before capturing the victory with a 7-6(0) comeback victory in the second.
The Red Raiders will next face the winner of Illinois and Mississippi State in the semifinal round on Sunday.
