Kim Kaufman finished tied for 11th following an even-par final round of the LPGA Q-Series
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf alumnae Kim Kaufman secured another year on the LPGA Tour Saturday as she wrapped the final round of the Q-Series in a tie for 11th at Pinehurst Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Â
Kaufman was 2-under-par over the 144 holes of competition to secure LPGA status for 2019. She finished 12 strokes inside the cut line after signing for an even-par card or better in five of eight rounds, including a 2-under 70 and 4-under 68 rounds over the final 54 holes.
Â
Since joining the LPGA Tour as a rookie in 2014, Kaufman has already earned over $1.4 million in events across the world. Her best finish from this season came at the LOTTE Championship where she finished in a tie for 23rd overall.
Â
Kaufman, a native of Clark, South Dakota, remains one of the top golfers in Tech history as she concluded her tenure in 2013 with a 74.0 career stroke average, which now ranks second all-time among Red Raiders. She is the only player in school history to earn All-America honors twice in a career as she was an honorable mention selection as a junior in 2012 and then a second-team honoree by Golfweek in 2013.
Â
Kaufman was joined in the Q-Series by former teammate Elin Arvidsson, who finished in 82nd place just outside the cut line. Arvidsson had already secured Symetra Tour status for next season after advancing past the first two stages of qualifying school.
