Chrislyn Carr named Freshman of the Week for outstanding performance

IRVING, Texas – Freshman point guard Chrislyn Carr garnered Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors after another big performance on Saturday.

Carr led the Lady Raiders to a 105-54 victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday. She scored 29 of the Lady Raiders points in just 26 minutes of action for her fourth 20-point game of the season. Of her 29 points, 17 came in the first half.

Carr shot a season best 70 percent from the field and went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. The freshman also tied a career high with six rebounds, dished out six assists and collected two steals in the win.

The Lady Raiders return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Oklahoma for the Big 12 opener. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on FS Oklahoma.
