Dallas, the Red Raiders have arrived.
Â
Texas Tech, making its second NCAA Tournament appearance in the last three years, touch downed in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex Tuesday morning, beginning what the Red Raiders hope is a week-long stay in the university's largest alumni base.
Â
The Red Raiders, the No. 3 seed in the East region, jumped right into preparations for Thursday night's NCAA opener against No. 14 Stephen F. Austin with a roughly two-hour practice at nearby SMU. Tech will move its practice to the American Airlines Center on Wednesday, the site of the opening two rounds.
Â
Wednesday's practice is open to all fans as Tech is expected to take the floor from 3:25-4:05 p.m. in what will be its final workout prior to facing the Lumberjacks on Thursday evening. Head coach Chris Beard and several members of the Red Raiders will also meet with various members of the media prior to Wednesday's practice.
Â
Tip off between Tech and Stephen F. Austin is slated for 6:27 p.m. CT Wednesday night with television coverage provided nationally on Tru TV. The game can also be heard over the Texas Tech Sports Network and its affiliates throughout the state of Texas.
Â
Fans unable to catch the Red Raiders in person Thursday night should stay glued to social media as Tech will be providing behind-the-scenes content throughout its stay in Dallas. The Red Raiders can be found at @TexasTechMBB on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat as well as on Facebook.
