Texas Tech men’s track and field team earn a spot in the USTFCCCA Top 10
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Men's Track & Field team jumped to No. 6 in the first week of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor national rankings.
This is the highest week-one ranking of the outdoor season since the Red Raiders opened the 2012 season at No. 7.
The Red Raiders are coming off another successful weekend at the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Junior Charles Brown led the team with a wind-aided mark of 8.16m (26'-9.75") to take second in the men's long jump. His leap ranks first in the country.
Sophomore Brandon Bray posted a season best mark in the men's pole vault after clearing 5.35m (17'-6.5"), placing second.
In his first outdoor meet of the season, senior Trey Culver cleared 2.23m (7'-3.75") to finish second in the men's high jump. His mark ranks third in the country.
Tech continues its outdoor season at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., this weekend.
