No. 14 Women’s Tennis Set for Big 12 Championships

Lady Raiders to face No. 42 Kansas State on Friday
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 14 Texas Tech Women's Tennis Team is set to face No. 42 Kansas State in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tennis Championships on Friday.
This is the second straight year the Lady Raiders open the tournament against K-State. Last season, the Wildcats defeated Iowa State in the opening round before playing Texas Tech.
The Lady Raiders (18-5) earned the No. 3 seed after finishing in a three-way tie for second place with Oklahoma State and Kansas. The seeding came down to highest national ranking.
The Wildcats earned the No. 6 seed and are on a four-match losing streak entering this weekend.
In the regular season meeting, the Lady Raiders swept K-State, 4-0.
Since returning to the court, senior Katelyn Jackson has been undefeated with a 4-0 record.
In doubles action, junior Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba enter the Big 12 tournament on a 12-match win streak. The duos is a perfect 7-0 in conference play and picked up their latest win over Oklahoma State's Katarina Stresnakova and Marina Guinart.
If Tech advances to the semifinals, the Lady Raiders would face the winner between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma/Iowa State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
