Men's Basketball Checks in at No. 6 in Final Poll

The No. 6 finish is the best in program history for the Red Raiders.
LUBBOCK, Texas – On the heels of the program's first trip to the NCAA Elite Eight, the Texas Tech men's basketball team captured a No. 6 finish in the USA Today Coaches poll released Tuesday.
The Red Raiders closed the season appearing in 11 consecutive polls highlighted by seven Top 10 rankings. The No. 6 ranking matches a program-best set on Feb. 12 in the USA Today Coaches poll and on Feb. 19 in the Associated Press poll earlier this season.
Texas Tech knocked off Stephen F. Austin, No. 23 Florida and No. 11 Purdue en route to the NCAA East Regional final. The Red Raiders registered 27 wins, the second-most in program history for a single season, only behind a 30-2 mark produced by the 1995-96 squad under James Dickey.
Texas Tech was one of four teams to be ranked inside the final USA Today Coaches poll joining No. 3 Kansas, No. 13 West Virginia and No. 19 Kansas State.
