Lady Raiders Record Sixth Ranked Win

Texas Tech defeats Baylor, 4-0, to improve to 3-1 in league play
WACO, Texas – The No. 15 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team (14-4, 3-1 Big 12) picked up its sixth ranked win of the season as the Lady Raiders swept No. 21 Baylor (11-11, 1-4 Big 12) Friday evening.

After dropping the doubles match on court three, the Lady Raiders won two straight to clinch the doubles point.

Gabriela Talaba and Felicity Maltby stretched their win streak to nine matches after defeating Baylor's Giorgia Testa and Theresa Van Zyl, 6-3. No. 11 doubles pair Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak clinched the point with a 6-3 victory on court one.

In singles play, Valenstein gave the Lady Raiders a 2-0 lead with her 6-1, 6-2 victory on court four. Valenstein extended her win streak to six and improved to 11-3 on the year.

No. 84 Federici improved to 12-2 on the season after defeating Kris Sorokolet (6-0, 6-4) on court three, pushing the Lady Raiders to a 3-0 advantage.

Talaba clinched the win for the Lady Raiders with her straight set win (6-4, 6-1) over Theresa Van Zyl. Talaba improved to 10-2 on court one.
