VB Recruiting Class Earns Highest Honorable Mention

Tech’s eight-member class recognized as one of the top 55 in the nation.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team's eight-member incoming class was awarded the highest honorable mention by PrepVolleyball.com, it was announced recently.

Texas Tech's incoming class includes Kiari Gier, Katy Northcut, Karrington Jones, Brooke Kanas, Haley Killinger, Alex Kirby, Jessica Langridge and Audrey Smith. Four of the eight signees were were tabbed AVCA Under Armour All-Americans.

"This is a big group, and it's our first full recruiting class as a coaching staff," head coach Tony Graystone said. "We're excited about knowing that we are bringing in some players that we recruited from start to finish. We have all of the positions covered. We're adding some size and a lot of offense in there. We're really happy about them. These are some players that are going to be the foundation for what we are moving forward with."

The Red Raider signing class is one of 25 in the nation that was honored with the distinction. The "Highest Honorable Mention" group consists of the top recruiting classes that fell outside of PrepVolleyball.com's Top 30.

The organization touted two Red Raiders as 2017 Senior Aces (Top 250 recruit in the nation) in Haley Killinger and Brooke Kanas, while Northcut was tabbed High School All-American Honorable Mention.

Tech was one of two Big 12 schools to receive highest honorable mention. Five Big 12 schools were ranked inside the Top 30.
