August 15, 2018 | Men's Golf
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech senior golfer Adam Blomme will be joined by four former Tech golfers this weekend in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the 2018 Nordea Masters, which begins Thursday morning.
In total, there will be five current or former Red Raider golfers in the European Tour event, as Blomme, playing as an amateur, will be joined by Clement Sordet, Oscar Floren, Hannes Ronneblad and Fredrik Nilehn. That group of four combines for 14 all-time individual collegiate wins, and they occupy the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 spots on Tech's all-time individual career wins list.
The Golf Channel will have coverage of the event, beginning Thursday, with live broadcasts being carried from 4-6 a.m. and 8-11 a.m. On Friday, coverage will resume at the same times broadcasted Thursday. Saturday's and Sunday's action will be carried live from 6-10:30 a.m.
Sordet, a 2015 All-American, had five wins as a Red Raider, Nilehn, the 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year, notched four, Floren, a three-time first-team All-American, recorded three and Ronneblad registered two.
Blomme is coming off a banner year himself, as he helped get the Red Raiders to the NCAA Championship by tying for seventh at the NCAA Columbus Regional. He followed that up with some clutch play at the NCAA Championship in Stillwater to help the Red Raiders advance to the match play portion of the tournament, where he won his quarterfinal match against Alabama.
The tournament will be held at Hills Golf Club, in Nilehn's hometown of Gothenburg. Play begins Thursday morning on the 6,931-yard par-70 track. Sordet will tee off at 12:50 a.m. CT, Blomme and Floren will actually be paired together, teeing off at 2:10 a.m. CT, Nilehn will take the course at 6:30 a.m. CT, and Ronneblad rounds out the Red Raider representatives, teeing off a 7:10 a.m. CT.
The tournament will take place seven hours ahead of Central time, so Sordet will tee off at 7:50 a.m. local time, Blomme and Floren at 9:10 a.m., etc.
Live results can be found at europeantour.com, and will be updated throughout the weekend.
