Arenas, Goldberg Set to Make Collegiate Debut

Destiny Arenas and Maddie Goldberg will play in the Lady Paladin Invitational this weekend in South Carolina
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech freshman golfers Destiny Arenas and Maddie Goldberg will make their collegiate debut this weekend at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, South Carolina.

Arenas and Goldberg will both be playing as individuals in the 16-team tournament that features Big 12 foes Kansas and Kansas State as well as host Furman, which ended the 2017-18 season among the top-10 teams in the country.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins Friday morning with Arenas paired alongside Natalie Petersen (Georgia Southern) and Victoria Parker (Coastal Carolina) in the 9:12 a.m. CT tee time Friday. Goldberg will follow nine minutes later alongside Ella Ofstedahl (Georgia Southern) and Alison Crenshaw (Daytona State).

The duo are part of a talented four-member freshman class for head coach JoJo Robertson. Arenas moved on campus this summer after a successful prep career at Lubbock High School, while Goldberg joined the program in August out of Hyde Park High School in the Austin area where she was the 2017 TAPPS Class 5A state champion.
