Maddie Goldberg closed her first collegiate tournament with a 2-over 74 round Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech freshman Maddie Goldberg closed her first career collegiate tournament with a 2-over-par 74 round Sunday to wrap the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted at the Furman University Golf Club in Greensboro, South Carolina.
Â
Goldberg was the lone Red Raider to participate in the tournament after fellow freshman Destiny Arenas suffered a minor injury during Thursday's practice round. Goldberg finished in a tie for 75th overall at 20-over for the tournament following 10-over and 8-over cards to open the three-day event.

Furman's Haylee Harford claimed the individual title after combining to shoot 9-under over 54 holes. Furman won the team title as well, topping second-place Coastal Carolina by 14 strokes on its home course.

The Red Raiders return to the links as a team in two weeks at the Illini Invitational near Chicago. The two-day tournament begins Oct. 8 from the prestigious Medinah Country Club.
