Red Raiders host Lamar in a 3 p.m. kickoff Saturday afternoon inside Jones AT&T Stadium
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will open its home slate Saturday inside the friendly confines of Jones AT&T Stadium as the Red Raiders host Lamar in a 3 p.m. kickoff. Tickets are still on sale for as low as $10 through Texas Tech's Labor Day Sale, which is available here at TexasTech.com or by calling 806-742-TECH.

The game will air live regionally on FOX Sports Net with Brendan Burke calling the action alongside analyst David Anderson and sideline reporter Christian Steckel. Fans can also find the game using the FOX Sports Go app from any mobile or streaming device.Â

The Texas Tech Sports Network will also broadcast the game over 46 affiliates throughout the state of Texas and New Mexico as Brian Jensen will have the call alongside analyst John Harris, sideline reporter Chris Level and engineer Steve Pitts. SATURDAY STORYLINES
- Texas Tech has been dominant in home openers during its history as the Red Raiders are 74-17-2 all-time after winning each of their last 18 openers inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Since 1980, the Red Raiders are 34-4 in home openers with two of those losses coming to ranked opponents (1992 vs. No. 15 Oklahoma & 1990 vs. No. 18 Houston).
- Texas Tech has scored at least 40 points in each of its last six home openers. The Red Raiders have scored 50 or more points in four of those games and 60 points twice.
- Texas Tech will look to avoid its first 0-2 start since 1990 against Lamar as the Red Raiders' loss to Ole Miss marked just its 27th in season openers over now 94 seasons of collegiate football. The Red Raiders have traditionally bounced back in strong fashion from a season-opening loss as Tech is 16-10 all-time in the week immediately following.
- The Red Raiders have rebounded to win their week two game after a season-opening loss in each of the last six occurrences. In two of those seasons (2002 and 1995), Texas Tech went on to win nine games overall.
- Texas Tech enters this weekend having won each of its last seven non-conference games at home and 32 of its last 33 dating back to the 2002 season. The Red Raiders are an impressive 39-2 overall against non-conference foes at home since moving to a spread offense in 2000.
