Red Raiders Travel to San Marcos for Jim West Challenge

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas Tech women's golf team will continue their fall slate with a trip to San Marcos, Texas for the annual Jim West Challenge held at Kissing Tree Golf Club.
The Red Raiders will be one of seven teams ranked in the latest Golfweek Magazine poll, joining Ole Miss (15), Houston (20), Florida State (28), Oklahoma (29), Miami (38) and Texas A&M (48). Tech enters the Jim West Challenge at 45 after an eighth-place finish at the Illini Invitational earlier this month."
Garcia will look to build off an already impressive start to her season, as the junior from Asuncion, Paraguay has recorded a top-five finish in each of her first three fall tournaments, including an individual title at the Trinity Forest Invitational in September. Garcia will also carry the Folds of Honor bag for the Red Raiders at Kissing Tree.
Amy Taylor and Anna Dong join Garcia in the lineup, having each recorded a pair of top-30 finishes this fall, including a season-best tie for 11th for Taylor and tie for 15th for Dong. Louisa Brunt will also compete in San Marcos, having put together a sixth place and tie for 50th finish in her two appearances on the year.
Louisa Brunt will compete in her third tournament of the season, having recorded a sixth place finish to begin the fall slate of events. Freshman Gala Dumez rounds out the lineup for head coach JoJo Robertson.
