Men's Tennis Wraps Up Rice Invite in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – Three members of the Texas Tech men's tennis team concluded play at the Rice Invite in Houston with six matches Sunday afternoon.
In one of only two main draw matches on the day decided on the court, the doubles pairing of Jackson Cobb and Reed Collier were defeated by Alcantara/Sanson of UTSA by a tiebreaking-score of 9-8(4). Collier and Cobb also picked up singles match wins due to a withdrawal and default, respectively.
Justin Bloss, who was competing exclusively in singles play, was taken down by Nishihara of UTSA in two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
In matches played outside of the main draw, Collier fell to Boisseau of UIW at a 6-3, 7-6(5) margin. Cobb rounded out the tournament for Tech with a three-set loss to Poestinger of UTSA, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
