October 04, 2019 | Women's Golf
DALLAS, Texas – The Texas Tech women's golf team is set to compete in their third tournament of the 2019-20 season at the Illini Invitational for the second-consecutive season in Medinah, Illinois.
The Red Raiders, who are coming off two-consecutive top-three finishes to begin the year, will play two rounds of continuous stroke play on Monday before concluding the event with 18 holes on Tuesday.
The tournament features one of the strongest fields in all of golf, as eight of the 15 opposing teams are ranked inside Golfweek Magazine's top-50 rankings, including Illinois (22), Indiana (48), Kennesaw State (50), Kent State (4), Mississippi (13), Oklahoma (40), Purdue (46) and San Jose State (41).
The two-day affair will take place at Medinah Country Club, one of the most prominent private clubs in the country that has played host to the Ryder Cup in 2012, as well as three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships and the 2019 BMW Championship.
The Red Raiders will roll out a five-member lineup that includes Sofia Garcia, who has recorded first place and second place finishes already this season. The lineup will also feature Louisa Brunt, who concluded Tech's last tournament in sixth place while competing as an individual. Anna Dong, Gala Dumez and Amy Taylor will also compete in their third-straight appearances for the Red Raiders this season.
Tech will begin play on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start, followed by a 9 a.m. start time on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at www.Golfstat.com.
